MCPS to Unveil New Career Website

Starting in November 2009, current employees and prospective applicants seeking jobs with Montgomery County Public Schools will be able to search and apply for jobs online. In addition to searching and applying for positions, MCPS Careers will also allow applicants to find information about positions they are seeking, upload resumes, request email notifications of vacancies, create profiles, and check the status of applications throughout the hiring process.

MCPS Careers will make the job application process faster, more effective, and most importantly, it will reduce the use of paper.

MCPS anticipates hiring at least 700 teachers each year. There are currently over 11,000 teachers in the system. A beginning teacher with a bachelor's degree in 2009/2010 will earn $46,410, and teachers with advanced degrees can earn up to $103,634.

For more information, log onto www.mcpscareers.org or call the Office of Human Resources at (301) 279-3204.
