Councilmember Nancy Navarro to Host Free Community Foreclosure Seminar
On Thursday, Aug. 27, at Eastern Regional Services Center, Presentations and Counseling Will Be Available for Residents

ROCKVILLE, Md., August 10, 2009—Montgomery County District 4 Councilmember Nancy Navarro on Thursday, Aug. 27, will host “A Community Foreclosure Seminar” to help residents in the eastern portion of the County who are facing financial struggles during the economic downturn. The free evening of presentations and counseling will be held from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Eastern Montgomery Regional Services Center. Bilingual counselors will be available.

The Eastern Regional Services Center is located at 3300 Briggs Chaney Road in Silver Spring.

Presentations and counseling at the meeting will be provided by Tim Warner of the County Executive’s Community Partnerships, bilingual counselors from HomeFree-USA and the Maryland Association of Realtors.

“Although there are some signs that the economy is slowly improving, for many people, economic hardship—and the threat of losing their home—continues,” said Councilmember Navarro. “For many of these residents, the difference of saving their homes or losing them may depend on having information about foreclosure proceedings and about their rights when it comes to potential foreclosure. We hope people will take advantage of this free seminar to learn important things about their individual situations.”

For more information on what to bring to the seminar and how to participate, contact Councilmember Navarro’s office at (240) 777-7968 or email her at Councilmember.Navarro@montgomerycountymd.gov
