Community Service Day, October 24th

Community Service Day is a day set aside for Montgomery County's community members to come together to volunteer and make a difference in our community.

Save the Trees!

Maydale Nature Center Park. 9:30 AM – 12 Noon

Meet at 9:30 AM in the parking lot to Maydale Nature Center – 1638 Maydale Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20905. Rain or shine! Bring gloves, pruners, saws and lopper or borrow ours.

Maydale Nature Center is an oasis tucked into a community that truly loves their park!! The park offers a wonderful small fishing pond, wetlands, pristine Paint Branch Stream Valley, and deciduous and pine forests – all within 14 acres!! Unfortunately, the park’s native trees and plants are threatened by invasive plants. Come join Councilwoman Nancy Navarro and Montgomery County Park Rangers as we manually remove the invasive plants and save the trees!! Be part of the great community effort to save the trees of Maydale!
